In the 23 years of our company’s existence, we have completed more than 36,000 projects for over 11,000 clients. Some of them took only a few hours, while others involved completing all exterior elements of large homes. This variety of projects has allowed us to build an impressive cedar roofing portfolio, an example of which you will find below.
Although more and more homeowners are shifting to composite shakes such as DaVinci or Brava, natural cedar roofs remain the most popular type of roofing we install.
This phenomenal cedar roof was installed in Kenilworth in 2022. Installed with Sahara breathable underlayment, copper gutters, and super-grip nails, these premium resawn shakes will last for decades.
We completed this project in early 2019. At the client’s request, we used premium-cut shakes with a 40-year limited manufacturer’s warranty.
This small, 2,400 sq ft house in Hinsdale is nearly 100 years old, so cedar shakes were the only viable option. We completed this job just before winter in 2024. The previous roof lasted for more than 25 years, so this was likely the fourth or fifth roof replacement in the history of the house!
Although this 2023 partial roof replacement was a relatively small-scale project, we still consider this house one of the most appealing properties. The vibrant color of the newly installed shakes makes it look great.
We completed this project in 2021. Although it may seem like a standard job, we remember it as one of the most complex roof designs. The entire house was covered with Northshore Prime Teal hand-split shakes.
This natural cedar roof replacement was part of a large-scale exterior remodel of a multi-million-dollar mansion in Lake Bluff. With premium-grade cedar shingles and copper flashings, this house looks better than ever.
Within the last few years we could observe a drastic rise of DaVinci’s products popularity. Composite shakes made of virgin resins outperform natural wood in terms of durability, longevity and hail resistance. Although they can’t resemble a natural aroma of cedar wood, they look realistically and give homeowners a peace of mind for many years to come.
This was a significant project. Installing over 7,000 sq ft of DaVinci shakes (color: Mountain) took us more than four days. Due to its complex shape, the roof was challenging for our team, but we managed to complete the project flawlessly. The homeowner can now enjoy a stunning roof along with a 50-year transferable warranty.
With date of completion in February 2025, this project is a great example of simple yet aesthetically pleasing roof. The client chose DaVinci Select Shake in Weathered Gray color.
DaVinci Select Shakes (Mountain) perfectly replaced old and rotten shingles. Fitted with copper flashings, RockyGuard snowguards and charming weather vane, synthetic roof looks premium and elegant.
Simple yet elegant combination of DaVinci Select Shake (Chesapeake) and brown Kynar-steel flashings always looks great, especially on a house with such a refined architecture. The roof was installed on one of the most magnificent properties in the neighborhood.
Although not very large, this roof is one of the most eye-catching and aesthetically pleasing. Weathered Gray DaVinci Select shakes, paired with copper valley and roof-to-wall flashings, create a roofing masterpiece that makes passersby turn their heads. This project was completed in March 2024.
Although less popular than DaVinci Roofscapes, Brava roofs are considered as one of the best alternatives to natural cedar shakes.
This post-hail roof replacement was completed in early 2024. Just look at how beautiful these valley flashings are!
Although quite simple, this roof design has something very appealing. At the homeowner’s request, we used Lake Forest Brava composite shakes. These are by far the most realistic products on the market, perfectly mimicking natural cedar shingles with subtle signs of weathering and moss growth.
With a stunning 8,000 sq ft area to be covered, this was a notably large roofing project, likely the biggest we completed in 2025. The combination was simple yet very elegant: Brava Canyon Gray cedar shakes, Kynar-coated steel flashings, and Rocky Guard snow guards. It’s a solid roof that will last for at least four or five decades.
Since the previous roof was damaged during a hailstorm, time was running out. We had to install this massive 8,000 sq ft roof just before winter. Brava shakes were installed in place of severely damaged, 20-year-old natural cedar shingles. The house’s curb appeal has improved dramatically!
After careful consideration, this homeowner opted for Brava shakes instead of DaVinci Roofscapes. Although Brava was a slightly more expensive option, our client says she would definitely make the same decision again. Just look how great these shakes look!
Although cedar shakes are inherently beautiful, the real impact comes from using copper and steel flashings or gutters to enhance their charm. Our team of metal workers has spent years designing and manufacturing various sheet metal components used extensively in our cedar roofing projects. Just look how beautiful they are!
